Went with my stepdad to a show at a photography gallery tonight. Some of the pictures were really beautiful. Some were just nice. My stepdad pointed out that the ones of New York weren't really that much better than mine, but, since they were taken in the 40s, they had the nostalgia factor simply by virtue of being old and of things that are no longer there. He made the good point that it's harder to be successful in photography now because there are just *so* many people taking pictures out there and it's hard to do something that hasn't been done before... to death.
