Lots of Stuff to Report!

First and foremost, We Walk is growing! Welcome to Sandra, Bill, Jessica and Patty!! I have it on good authority that we'll have another member soon though he hasn't officially joined yet. YAY! Of course, if you'd like to join us, you're more than welcome... just shoot me a line at lisa@lisawalks.com and I'll give you all the info you need. Do it by July 31 and you'll get a $50 fundraising credit... meaning you only have to raise $1750!

Honestly, if you *do* want to join, please do it soon... I think we're finally edging up on a-little-too-late-to-start-training time.

But, we're not there yet! And I went on my first real training walk of the season last week with Bill and Jessica. We started at his place on the upper west side and headed into the park. It was relatively short, at least for me--they went on a bit longer, but felt good to get out there.

We've got our next walk tomorrow night and I expect we'll do about 5 miles. If you're local and would like to join us for some training walks, drop me a line and I'll keep you up to date on our schedule. I think we're going to shoot for a couple of walks during the week and at least one longer walk on the weekends... as we get closer to the walk in October, we'll start doing two longer walks on the weekends. We've got a ways to go to work up to 39.3 miles! :)

In other news... some *great* bears recently for Project Teddy Bear!

	Went to go see Grey Gardens a couple of weeks ago... really wanted to get Christine Ebersole to sign a bear... and she did! She was really nice and I love this picture. :)
	Yeah, yeah... I went to see Xanadu again... this time we sat on the stage and had an *amazing* time. We were waiting outside to chat with Marty Thomas and I went ahead and took the opportunity to get Kerry Butler to sign... she was a great sport and even struck her Xanadu poster pose... which cracked me up to no end.
	Eileen hit a convention in New Jersey this weekend and managed to get a few bears... this first one is Nicki Clyne, from Battlestar Galactica. A nice addition to the bunch we got last year through Aaron Douglas!
	The always-gorgeous Morena Baccarin... and how funny that Eileen sent me this picture today and I'm sitting here watching the rerun of her How I Met Your Mother episode right now. Morena may also hold the record for number of times participating in Project Teddy Bear without me ever meeting her (3)! One of these days... :)
	How cool is that??? HENRY WINKLER!! Yep... The Fonz signed a bear... Eileen rocks! (And she says he was really nice, too... which means Henry Winkler rocks. :))
